 1) "The Only Subject Which I Refuse To Talk About Until Now -- But This Report Will Prepare You Much Better For The 2003 Challenges!"

I hope you and your family had a great holiday and shared some special moments.

As I promise couple of days ago, I want to write today about something special. But first, let me tell you this: I'm a normal person and have nothing in common with parapsychology, religious books or other mystic approaches. I write about the next subject from a serious online marketer point of view.

My wish here is to focus you on the first step to online success, which is the spiritual factor. It is something that Joe Vitale names it "Spiritual Marketing". Later I will show from where you can download his great ebook.

For me, spiritual marketing means to combined mental and personal action into a perfect system from where you can accomplish all your objectives with a maximum return of your investment in a minimal time. Everything starts if you realize that YOU can have anything, be anything, and do anything!

I presume that you are 100% in the right business and the right environment now. If you are engaged in a business, and feel that it is not the right one for you, get into the right business before you begin anything else. Do not feel discouraged, or sit down and lament because you are misplaced. Change things before it's not too late...

Your next move is to train your mind that you must create, not to compete for what is already created. You are to become a creator, not a competitor: you are going to get what you want, but in such a way that when you get it, every other people will have more than he has now. What do I mean? Whatever you are now, no matter if you have your own product or service to sell online, you have to look at your marketing actions from the eyes of a creator.

If you want to promote other people products /services, train yourself to marketing as the product is yours: make it as you have something very special and people will benefit much more than YOU do.

Then the next question becomes: WHAT DO YOU REALLY WANT FOR 2003?

Before you answer to this question, allow me to present your "secret spiritual marketing engine": the WillPower.

Some people don't seem to have any, while some people a lot. I look at the Will Power as the most important force for generating success, with his origin in having a clear image of the objectives you are trying to achieve.

"The human Will, that force unseen,
The offspring of a deathless Soul,
Can hew a way to any goal,
 Though walls of granite intervene.

 Be not impatient in delay,
 But wait as one who understands;
 When spirit rises and commands,
The gods are ready to obey."

(James Allen - "As A Man Thinketh")

I repeat the last part: a clear image of the objectives you are trying to achieve. To succeed online and offline, you need only to use your WillPower upon yourself.

At this moment I need some help. It comes from a great book which many of you - I hope! - read it: "The Magic Story", by Frederick Van Rensselaer Day.

OK, what makes this story so powerful? It was reported that many people changed their lives after reading this magic book--of course, in a positive way. Could be the words inside? Perhaps the way it was written? I'm not sure, but it's the same ebook that change my life couple of years ago. Why?

Because it start getting me to focus on where I want to go, not on where I was at that time. Focusing on want you want to go will take you in the right direction. If you don't consciously select where you want to go, you go where your unconscious / subconscious wants you to go.

And this become a dangerous situation... because when you'll wake-up tomorrow, your unconscious /subconscious might send you in a wrong direction. The "Magic Story" will show you exactly what your unconscious /subconscious wants you to do.

Just follow me...

After you download the ebook, please send it to your printer. There are not many pages, so this will take you only a couple of minutes, or less.

Now, put the printed version away and wait until the night is falling down seriously. Sit near of your Christmas tree on a couch and relax (don't forget to turn on the lights from the tree and a semi-obscure light in the room). Take some moments to clear your mind from everything.

Focus on the papers from your hands (The Magic Story). Keep it that way until you're sure your mind is ready to absorb freely this book.

Now it's the perfect time to start reading. Slowly, to give your unconscious the right time to absorb every single word...

Let the story flow... do not make any breaks... turn off your phone, radio or TV before... just read... and relax...

When you finish the book, put it under the tree and jump into the bed. THINK about what you already discover into the story and ... good night!

DO NOT think about anything else! Just sleep...

In the morning, after you wake-up, DO NOT make anything else rather than take a piece of paper, a pencil and start writing about what you want to accomplish in 2003, what's your new year objectives.

I repeat: DO NOT make anything else before you start writing! That's because what you will put on that paper are the unconscious thoughts, the way he wants you to go.

OK, after you make this first step, take a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy of a beautiful new day. Few hours later come back and read what you have written in the morning.

Now you are in a conscious mood. Your brain works at fool speed. But the unconscious /subconscious mind works day and night. There is something on that paper which scare you a little? I hope not...

On the other hand, right now your mind tells you something totally different. Take another piece of paper and write down again your 2003 objectives.

Look over your 2 lists and see what objective('s) jump out at you. Your own mind will then help you in the direction of making your objective('s) a reality.

Many online marketers fail due to this motive: they haven't or have overloaded their marketing objectives. Let's be serious: if you're a newbie in this business, don't set your objective on building a mailing list of 100,000 subscribers. Don't expect people to join if you don't have something special to offer.

Start by focusing on clear and realistic objectives, preferably on those which you can certainly, 100%, accomplish. Don't go to strange, unusual objectives to perform
as a first step toward getting online success. Do not spend any time in day dreaming or castle building!

Good, let's going forward. There are 3 great ebooks that I want you to read after this.

First it's called "Spiritual Marketing", a super book written by Joe Vitale. The second is the gorgeous "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill, and the third is "The Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace D. Wattles (be patient, at the end I'll show you how to download these ebooks).

I BEG YOU to read these ebooks... please, please DO IT! And repeat the above process: printed, read it in a special ambience.

Concentrate your efforts on swiping realistic objectives for 2003. Then, using the above method, educate your unconscious /subconscious to work for you.

Repeat the process for every objective. Force your unconscious /subconscious
to give you answers and solutions to your problems. Use your mind to form a
mental image of your objectives. Hold that vision with faith and purpose and
use your WillPower to keep your mind working in the right way.

The more steady and continuous your faith and purpose, the more rapidly you will get online success.

Napoleon Hill:

"Man may become the master of himself, and of his environment, because he has the POWER TO INFLUENCE HIS OWN SUBCONSCIOUS MIND.

ANYBODY can WISH for riches, and most people do, but only a few know that a definite plan, plus a BURNING DESIRE for wealth, are the only dependable means of accumulating wealth.

... accumulation of money cannot be left to chance, good fortune, and luck. You must realize that all who have accumulated great fortunes, first did a certain amount of dreaming, hoping, wishing, DESIRING, and PLANNING before they acquired money."

As a conclusion:

First determine if you're in the right business; if not, switch into a better one. Choose something that you know quit well and love to do it everyday.

Use the above method to swipe realist objectives for 2003. Then, train your unconscious /subconscious to give you the right answers to your problems.

Set a target date for achieving your objectives, identify the obstacles you will need to overcome, develop a written action plan. Finally, visualize your objectives daily as if you have already achieved it.

Use your WillPower, the biggest asset of every human being, to keep your mind working in the right way.

Remove from your mind indecision, doubt, fear... and relax - if you read this special issue, I already planted a seed in your mind. The seed of success! From now one, it's your job to raise it and mine to help you - NO EXCUSE for not building a successful online business.

If your objectives are right, and you believe in it, go ahead and do it! And never forget that every failure brings with it the seed of an equivalent success.

And remember: you cannot act in the past, because the past it's gone. You cannot act in the future, because the future is not here yet. Whatever your objectives and actions were to be, it is evident that YOU MUST ACT NOW!

 2) "The Top 6 Trends of 2003 In Affiliate Programs."

This column could be like so many others and predict who will spend how much money on advertising next year, but let's get real. Like direct marketing, this column is about improving what is currently working, rather than pulling pie-in-the-sky figures out of the air.

Want to make 2003 a good year? Start with a new focus on improving ROI and lowering customer-acquisition costs by focusing on performance. If you pay CPM, make it perform. If you run a CPA campaign, prove it works, so your affiliates will roll it out widely.

The funny thing about most end-of-the-year columns is that they try to predict trends based on what they hope will happen with company spending. Many of these writers are agency folks who love to take big budgets, charge outrageous CPM prices, pretend they're doing targeted marketing and then cry when the client goes away despite their polysyllabic defenses of poor marketing. This type of person hates affiliate programs because they are based on performance -- on getting down in the trenches and actually acquiring customers.

Good affiliates do not hope for trends, they create them. In their typical, understated fashion, affiliate programs represent some of the biggest trends in the Internet business. Here are the top six trends that will affect you in 2003:

Email used to be quick and easy.

Now you have to ask yourself if your message will get to its target. Is that list a spam list? Or one to which a billion messages are sent a month, making it inherently a spam list, no matter how it was compiled? Do you, like many others, wonder if you should even try to email AOL, Yahoo! or Hotmail?

For a hint of the real future, look in your snail mailbox. See the piles of junk mail? Like it or not, this stuff doesn't go away, and neither will email. With such high margins, it is a game of volume, so those work-at-home and debt-consolidation offers won't go away anytime soon.

For those of you who want to be snobs, remember that repeated marketing messages are most often a sign of success, not stupidity. While you may consider yourself superior to your neighbor, people out there are buying these products. Look for new regulations, massive lawsuits against scapegoat spammers, and a new trend towards sending less email more often so it gets to its destination by avoiding volume filters. Sound crazy? In the email environment of 2003, less is definitely more.

The power of adware: meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Like it or not, it's working. Adware (aka "stealware") companies are on the forefront of controversy in the affiliate community, resulting in the new code of conduct issued by CJ, Performics, and Be Free.

LinkShare is offering its own anti-predatory advertising addendum to keep adware companies from hijacking affiliate links through technology. Meanwhile, the major players in adware like Gator and WhenU continue to dominate the new game of contextual linking. Will the adware players agree to play by the affiliate networks' rules? In the ever-changing game of affiliate programs, some of these adware companies consider themselves more than affiliates.

Merchants will follow the sales no matter what the controversy; in tight markets, ethics are nice but profits tend to win out. In the coming weeks, look for more articles in this column covering the ever-growing power of adware companies and the threat they pose to traditional affiliates.

Pay-per-click affiliates continue to be threatened by Google and Overture. It's no secret that most programs' top affiliates dominate the pay-per-click search engines. These affiliates are better than most companies at buying groups of keywords, laying out their smart bets using a system like intelligent Vegas gamblers, and generating monthly revenue. But with Google's recent release of Froogle (and seeming animosity against top affiliates who learn their tricks), as well as Overture's inhibitive rules on affiliate links, these super affiliates are clearly threatened. Problem is, these affiliates still do it better than others who would take their place.

Affiliate programs go pro with private affiliate programs.

Why would you want thousands of affiliates posting your banner, when you can start a business development incubator within your company instead? The real value of affiliate programs is in testing and identifying the best partners with which to work. While most still use affiliate programs to place low performing banner ads, the new breed of affiliate programs carefully select and develop their top affiliates into business development partners.

As with most good things, developing a business relationship begins with a foundation of proven performance and grows from there. After that foundation is established, you pay a hybrid mixture of CPM and CPA based on performance.

Testing becomes sexy, and affiliate programs take center stage as the platform to do pay-per-performance testing. It is no longer sufficient for companies to keep their affiliate programs separate from their online advertising programs. The new affiliate program is a testing ground for new creative, new ideas, and new markets -- with performance as the measuring stick.

Even if the program doesn't sell, it can help save money on ongoing CPM buys by testing creative before making the ad buy. Sound simple? Then tell me why most companies still operate their affiliate programs as some form of amateur banner farm, instead of exploiting it for what it is, the most effective way to develop and test creative with an avid, active, and innovative marketing force paid on performance.

Pay CPM, prove CPA: the risk reversal of affiliate programs is in high gear.

Smart managers are now learning performance media buying, going out with their ads and buying low-cost emails, banners, and pop-ups to see what works. They understand the categories and sites that perform and benchmark their results. By paying up front for the initial test, smart affiliate managers prove their case and then scale up using the lessons learned; if not, they drop the campaign and try elsewhere. This is extremely cost effective and, most importantly, saves time for both the affiliate network and the affiliate.

As you can see, the top trends are right in front of your eyes. So it's your choice -- wait for the day a predicted trend happens (in which case, by the time you hear it, it's old news) or invent your own future by taking charge, testing, and proving your affiliate program worthy.

The coming year will be an interesting one for affiliate programs. I'm looking forward to hearing about, and writing about, your inventions next year.
