6) Are you ready to take the criticisms that you may receive from your unsatisfied clients?

It is true that you cannot please everybody, thus you need to have a plan to compensate your unsatisfied clients. Are you willing to give out a “100%, unconditional money-back-guarantee” feature?

Getting your potential market through strategic internet marketing is just like joining an expedition of fish observers to track a particular fish specie. If you know how to look for them and where to look for them, you will find them easily.

Moreover, there are also internet buyers who are just waiting to be discovered by the right internet marketers. Do not just expect them to come looking for you. Be the one to look for them through a strategic internet marketing hunt.

Keep in mind that internet marketing is the “pot of gold” you are looking for, yet needs to be applied with effective strategies that will help you grab that pot of gold and enjoy its benefits in the long term.

Over the past years, website hosting has grown bigger than it used to be. With more companies getting into this business and finding the many benefits it can give them, the demand for website hosting has never been higher.

These seem to be the trend of today. And to think, majority of those sites will be offering different affiliate programs for people to choose and participate into.

This only means one thing. It is easier now to find the right website host for your application. The possibility of quality web hosting companies separating themselves from the rest of the industry is anticipated. If this is done, the unprofessional and incompetent ones will suffer (trust me, I know a few “dudes”! They suck my brain for the last two days… but I don’t want to give names).

Support will be the number one consideration for people when choosing a website host. It will be obvious that traditional advertising will become less and less effective. Most people would rather opt for the website host based on things that they see and hear. Also based on the recommendations by those who have tried them and have proved to be a successful.

This business is a great opportunity for website hosting affiliates and resellers alike. There are hundreds of website hosting and programs to choose from that the difficulty in finding the right one for them is not a problem anymore.

How does one become a successful joint venture marketer in the niche markets using website hosting?

If you think about it, everyone who needs a website needs a web hosting company to host it for them. As of now, there is really no leading hosting industry so most people choose hosts based from recommendations. For the same reason that it is much easier to remember than a certain URL that you may be using and you can just point to your visitors the JV page in your website. Besides, having your own website nowadays is very cheap.

Another thing to remember is to have your own promo ads. A lot of times online marketers have published the same ad made by advertisers (hosting companies). In this case, you may email company asking to allow you make your own ads.

This way people may not become “immune” to ads, because sometimes seeing the same ads over and over again may just make your potential customers to just skip it all together. Besides, your primarily purpose is to attract or encourage people to click and read your ads and be curios enough to click through your website.

You can share to your potential customers what a great experience you had with the hosting company, and this can make them interested enough to buy the package. You may also be able to provide a support if necessary or you may provide a confident tutorial or steps on how to use the hosting that you are trying to market based on your personal experience.

Entailing this idea is to be totally honest about the package that you are trying to market. If you find out that the hosting program you were promoting is a scam, stop promoting it and inform your readers about it. This will help you build credibility with your lists! We all make mistakes and admitting your mistake will boost your reader’s confidence in you.

A fair warning: don’t try to market everything you see. With so many offers on the market, it is easy to become overwhelmed and try to market everything, to everyone, on the same place (your website). That is not a good idea. It’s better to focus on one market, with “hungry” buyers and market a webhosting product that they would want. After all, that’s why we call it niche marketing.

Lastly, try this out. If you are quite happy and satisfied with your website host, try to see if they are offering an affiliate program you can participate on. Instead of you paying them, why not make it the other way around: let them paying you!

The process can be as easy as putting a small “Powered by” or “Hosted by” link at the bottom of your page and you are already in an affiliate business. Why choose paying for your for your website hosting when you do not have to? Try to get paid by letting people know you like your website host.

There are many hosting affiliate programs on the Net. Some are offering you a residual affiliate program. This is the program wherein you get paid a percentage every month for a customer that you refer. This can allow you to have a steady monthly source of income. With perseverance, you can even be quite successful in this field.

Consider offering coupons!

As customers, we’re more likely to return and do business with people who give us freebies (or coupons) and we’re more likely to tell other people about our positive experience.

The Law of Reciprocity states that “If you give someone something or do something for them – they will want to repay you, to give you something back“.

Why don’t you think of some little unexpected coupons you can offer your customers that’ll encourage them to accept your hosting offer and also tell others about their positive experience? And while we’re at it – why not try the same thing with members of your staff (if you have)?

A few hosting companies gives you coupon codes that entitled new customers to reduce prices for hosting. Why not offer an extra $20 if they buy from you? Let’s face it, if they will buy and the hosting is great, they will remain clients for many years.

Search customers offline!

Most of the internet marketers seem to think of website promotion as just submitting to search engines, directories, link building and advertising in ezines or banner exchanges.

It is a known fact that most people in the world use most of their time offline. They read newspapers, magazines, listen to radio and watch TV, talk with their friends, neighbors and family. Not all the time is spent surfing on the Internet. To ignore the value of offline marketing is to leave 65-70% of the money to be made from your websites on the table.

I am sure you can think of many ways to use offline marketing, other than sticking notes on lamp-posts to create an awareness of your hosting offer. Think about: your competitors are missing out on something… always! Dig around until you discover what it is, and get a corner on that market niche.

You can check out offline venues for free advertisement like local newspapers, television stations, radio stations and the like. Often times these mediums are looking for new local businesses to highlight in their business sections and/or discussions. This is free advertisement and something you should take advantage of immediately.

Use Web 2.0 social marketing strategies!

According to Courtney Holt, head of new media and strategic marketing at Interscope Records, “This generation is growing up without having ever watched programmed media. They don’t think in terms of the album, and they don’t think in terms of a TV schedule. They think in terms of TiVo, P2P, AOL, and of course MySpace“.

Let’s see how your business could grow…  you create an account on multiple social networks and start to talk about your product/service or hosting offer. You blog about it and search for others that may share your interests.

You then invite them to be your friend. When they become a friend you start your “soft sell” pitching your offer to them. As they grow to appreciate it, they start blogging and sharing it. If done correctly, soon hundreds or even thousand of people are talking about you.

Don’t think this will work? Let me give you an extreme example. There are many bands who have gotten their start on MySpace. Simply by hosting some of their music online and blogging about themselves they developed a following. Soon they had record deals and contracts lined up.

Of course to use services like MySpace you need to come up with something this target market needs. If you don’t, then you probably shouldn’t put too much effort into MySpace. But that doesn’t mean other social networking opportunities should be overlooked. LinkedIn is more of a professional introduction service. If your product or service fits here then by all means explore it further.

And there are others as well. Services such as Yahoo!s MyWeb, Flickr, Facebook, Delicious, Technorati, Twitter, StumbleUpon, and more… ALL can give your business a boost!

So if you’ve ever wondered what other online opportunities could be out there, consider social marketing.

It is the greatest online marketing channel of the moment.

It’s been quite some time since my last post here and even more since I host a guest writer. But I was really busy with my new product launch.

Anyway, here’s a great article…

Last night I had dinner with Joe Vitale and Pat O’brien.

Pat wrote “The Portable Empire” book published by Wiley Press. Joe has written 30 best sellers and, most recently, took his fame to another level by being featured in “The Secret.”

Joe’s one of those guys who could have an ego bigger than New York, but doesn’t. He’s one of brightest, most giving individuals you’ll meet. And puffs on a mean, Cuban cigar.

I won’t reveal his secret here.

But Joe has banged out 30 books and he literally can’t type! He hacks away at the keyboard. Joe turned his “cant’s” into “dones”. He didn’t let excuses stop him.

Pat used to be a blues musician. He toured Europe a lot and had a nice following.

But all that changed when he bartered guitar lessons with Joe Vitale in exchange for a ticket to his Spiritual Marketing seminar.

Pat got inspired.

In one weekend, he created his first product.

I tell people this all the time. Creating a product doesn’t need to take forever. 99% of creating a product is in your head. It’s in the decision to do it.

Pat sold more copies of his first product in a few days than he did CD’s all month long on his tours. And he could stay at home and not have the grind of travel.

So Pat got into this business.

Later, he penned his book Portable Empire that has been a big hit. He also holds “unseminar” seminars on marketing. Which are his own laid back version of seminars.

One of the things we did last night was brainstorm a new USP or big promise for Pat.

I explained to him that you can break sales letters down into direct and indirect leads or formulas, a tidbit I learned from Michael Masterson at awaionline.com.

Anyway, we figured a direct lead would be best for Pat. The two direct leads you use most often are problem/solution and big promise.

Neither Joe nor I really like or specialize in the problem/solution lead. So we use the big promise.

I reckon we spent 20 or 30 minutes noodling around, fishing for a big idea or promise for Pat’s product.

See, the concept of the portable empire is to create digital products and sell them over the Internet. But lots of people teach that. What I explained to Pat is that he needs to have a specific promise.

Then take that promise and carry it through his blog, boot tiles and everything else.

We finally came up with a pretty good idea for Pat.

So here you are.

If you’ve been following me, you’ve broken down your bills into daily amounts. You know you need to generate leads via ppc, seo or an affiliate program.

What’s all this talk ’bout Pat and Joe got to do with YOUR bills? Or what does it have to do with all this Twitter talk I’ve been dishin’ out?

TWITTER: This is how I reconnected with Pat and Joe. I’m met both a year ago at Pat’s UnSeminar. But we lost touch.

On Twitter, within a week, we reconnected. And that’s how we ended up doing dinner.

BILLS: I told in the story above how Pat created his first product in a weekend. And he sold more of it in a few days than he normally did CDs in a whole month of touring as a blues musician.

What about YOU?

If an ex blues musician can create a product in a weekend, don’t you think YOU might be able to?

And if you DO that, now what kind of impact do you think that’d have on you paying your bills?

Let’s say you sell your product for $50. And you sell one a week. That’s a $200 bill erased.

Let’s say that you promote affiliate products to the people who buy your main product. That might be another $50 or $100 a month there. So you erase another bill or two.

And what happens if instead of selling 2 a week, you sell one a day.

If you convert 1% of visitors to buyers, to sell one a day, you need 100 visitors a day.

If you were on my Ateam call last week, you know how to use Twitter to get a lot more than 100 visitors a day.

If you follow the system for converting leads to sales in rows 4 and 5 of Promo Dashboard, you’ve got a good shot at turning 10% of your leads to sales.

That would mean you only need 10 or 20 visitors a day to get the sale a day.

Or, if you bid on keywords on Google that have LESS than 7 ads, you’ll get clicks for whatever the minimum bid is. With a great quality score, you can get clicks for a penny to a nickel. It’s possible. People do it. I won’t say getting a great QS on Google is easy.

It isn’t.

But it can be done if you focus on it.

At dinner last night, I told Joe I thought you could get good at about anything you put your mind to. He being big into the law of attraction and such agreed.

One of the things I noticed last night is that I kept bouncing around from idea to idea as I’m prone to do. Joe kept coming back to the point we were discussing.

Focus.

It’s why I created Ockham’s Razor. You can’t see, move and finish unless you focus. You can’t focus unless you simplify.

Once you simplify, you can document your systems and outsource to the Philippines as John Jonas teaches.

Or, if you only want to do the SEO Lies method, Justin Brooke can teach you how to outsource that.

Do you see how all this fits together? That’s why I call it Marlon’s Master Plan. It all fits together.

Need to pay your bills? How ’bout following the steps in Ockham’s Razor to start? How about using Product Dashboard to create your own product and Promo Dashboard to promote it?

Just a thought.

People say, “Marlon, I don’t have money. I can’t afford to buy what you’re selling.”

But the people who post to my blog who DO have money, all have their own products! They DO what I teach.

Watch that. Notice the difference in the blog posts between the people who HAVE money and the people who don’t.

You’ll find most of the “haves” have because they HAVE their own products. And that’s why they have.

Now, nothing wrong with building your list to start and promoting affiliate products. Nothing wrong with that at all. But eventually you wanna fall in the “have” category.

It’s interesting to see the number of people coming back to my blog saying, “Marlon, I strayed. I followed the bright shiny objects. I tried to take the easy route. But I’ve come back to your teachings and wish I’d never left.”
